Defiant tower blocks refuse to be demolished

A pair of stubborn tower blocks in England has been defying demolition experts and simply refusing to fall down.

Demolition crews tried to bring down two towers at Seaforth, Merseyside, in the UK on Sunday morning but things did not exactly go to plan.

As the dust cleared from a series of explosions designed to topple both 15-storey buildings, they defiantly remained standing.

It took two hours for one building, Churchill House, to fall down.

But its partner Montgomery House was having none of it and saw crews returning for a second attempt.

The second controlled demolition did not help and the mighty Monty remained upright.

Crews are now expected to return to continue their efforts as frustration grows among nearby residents who have been forced to find alternative accommodation due to the repeated delays.
