B-double driver's last second swerve avoids carnage on Sydney motorway

A b-double truck narrowly avoided slamming into a sudden traffic jam on a Sydney motorway, missing a ute by inches.

A car's dashcam video shows the heavy rig travelling in the left lane of the M7 motorway near Glenwood on Friday.

The car passes the truck as it cruises down the motorway near the Hills district when traffic suddenly jams up beneath an overpass.

The car slows down just seconds before the truck barrels into shot in the left lane, swerving at the last second to avoid hitting a white ute that sat behind another semitrailer.

The truckie avoids the carnage of a massive pileup and manages to keep his rig stable as it wobbles and veers into the breakdown lane.

Since the video was posted to the Dashcam Owners Australia Facebook page on Sunday it has been viewed more than 268,000 times with comments varying from praise for the professional driving and speculation about whether the driver was paying attention.

As many point out, the video clearly shows warning signs along the route of traffic congestion ahead.

"Truck driver not paying attention and remained on the throttle for far too long," was one comment.

"As a professional driver didn't touch a bloody thing! If it were a car driver on the brakes and straight up the rear end," was another.

There's no end to the number of times people have nearly met theirs, with the incredible second chances captured on video.
