Teen hurt in Yanchep crash

A teenager is in a serious condition after the car he was in lost control and hit a tree near Yanchep early this morning.

The 18-year-old man was a passenger in a gold Holden Statesman sedan travelling south on Indian Ocean Drive, near Smokebush Road, around 3.10am.

The driver appears to have lost control while negotiating a bend.

An 18-year-old Balcatta man who was a passenger in the front received serious injuries and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.

The driver, an 18-year-old man from Tapping was not hurt and is helping police with their inquiries.

Police would like to speak with anyone who saw the crash or the gold Holden Statesman sedan prior to the crash. Anyone with information are asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
