It’ll be a night dedicated to women’s breasts, and if that’s not enough to grab your attention, all the sequins and feathers should be.

Burlesque for Breasts will draw the curtain in Geraldton next Saturday — and no, we’re not talking about your everyday show. These dancers are taking to the stage for a cause.

And that is to raise money and awareness of breast cancer, with all funds going towards supporting Mid West battlers through their treatment.

With that in mind, Roving Mad Entertainment circus performer and costumier Cherry Bomb, aka Cerrie Beech, couldn’t think of a better reason for a frocked-up evening.

“It’s a night out for everyone full of laughter, music and dance, ” she said.

“A night out for the ladies to let their hair down and embrace their feminine side or for couples who appreciate good humour fused with feathers.

“Expect the unexpected. Burlesque for Breasts is about bringing a cheeky crowd together for an intimate evening of bras, tease and tassels.

“The performers all have a love of dance, music and comedy, which is burlesque while raising awareness of breast cancer.”

The Geraldton Burlesque troupe will be leading ladies on the evening hosted by the Bootenal Family Tavern.

The evening aims to raise $2500, with raffles and prizes from the Bootenal Family Tavern, Jokerama Fancy Dress Hire, Trizzy’s, CD Centre, Tides and Queens IGA Liquor.

Mrs Beech said everybody knows someone affected by the disease.

“I know many women who have survived breast cancer and have friends and work colleagues who are undergoing treatment, ” she said.

“The motivation is to benefit others through a small financial gift, which will assist with their recovery and healing.

“It’ll be a night of great food, drinks, company and entertainment, while supporting a good cause.”

Tickets for pre-show canapes and cocktails are $35 with entry from 6.30pm.

For the late show only, tickets cost $20, with entry from 8pm.

Tickets are available for purchase at ACDC and the Bootenal Family Tavern.
