Exclusive: Australians biggest concerns about superannuation

Almost 50 per cent of Australians are concerned that the government is changing the superannuation system again, according to an exclusive 7News ReachTEL poll.

The survey found that only 19 percent felt they would have enough super to retire on, while 56 per cent think they will be forced onto the pension.

The survey of 2500 Australians also found there is support for early access to superannuation.

42.7 percent of respondents said they would support people having access to their super for the purpose of buying their first home.

More than 50 percent said they expect they will have to rely on either the part or full government aged pension when they retire.

A massive 74 percent disagreed with plans to include the family home in the pension asset test.

As for ideas to nationalise superannuation, 54 per cent said no, but a surprising 30 per cent said they were undecided.
