A Kwinana business owner is calling on the community to donate to a fundraiser to help the thousands of Nepalese suffering, after two earthquakes and an avalanche left the country in ruins.

Bliss Momos owner Sunil Shrestha, who moved to Australia from Nepal in 2009, has invited the community to a meal with traditional Nepalese cuisine - curries, rice, and dumplings (momo) - to raise money for much-needed emergency relief.

Mr Shrestha said he was worried about his family back home, and people who had lost loved ones and been left without shelter.

"It is definitely very hard for them at the moment because there are no houses or no shelter this time and they are not getting enough relief, especially in rural areas," he said.

"I have family over there but they are all OK, but their houses were damaged and after the second earthquake happened, they almost fell down. Their lives have been saved, but it still tough."

Kwinana MLA Roger Cook has banded with Mr Shrestha to support the cause.

"Communities are at their best when they are giving and coming together to help others who are less fortunate than themselves," Mr Cook said.

"There is a lot of concern about what is going on in Nepal - not only the loss of life, but the suffering that continues as a result.

"This is a good opportunity for people to come together and make a small contribution to the overall cause."

Mr Shrestha moved to WA to follow his dream of opening a restaurant to share Nepalese food with Australians and hoped the community would offer their support.

The fundraiser will be held tonight at 6pm at Bliss Momos at The Strand, Wellard.

Tickets are $35 a head.
