A man has been charged after a woman was injured by a car at a petrol station in Southern River last night.

Police released a statement this morning after a video of the incident was posted on Facebook with the explanation "This just happened at Canningvale servo (sic)".

Police allege that the injured woman from Canning Vale was at the Woolworths petrol station on Warton Road with her husband, 46, and teenage son about 7pm.

They had refuelled their car and the 43-year-old woman entered the store to pay.

"The alleged offender, who is known to the family, was also inside the station," police allege.

"Shortly after, the woman and the man entered into a verbal altercation."

It is alleged the man left the store and got into his car, a Holden utility.

"The man then allegedly drove away from the service station, hitting the woman who was near the front of the vehicle," police allege.

"Her 18-year-old son was forced to jump away from the vehicle as it was driven away."

The woman suffered minor injuries.

She has since been discharged from Armadale/Kelmscott hospital.

A 44-year-old Gosnells man was arrested at his house and charged with two counts of committing acts or omissions likely to cause danger.

He is due to appear in Armadale Magistrate's Court on June 9.
