Police believe a fire that destroyed a northern suburbs tattoo parlour overnight was deliberately lit.

Emergency crews were called to the scene at about 2.30am today.

It took fire fighters 90 minutes to extinguish the fire at the Angle Vale shopping centre but they could not save the parlour or prevent major impacts on neighbouring businesses.

A nearby doctor’s clinic has been forced to throw out hundreds of flu vaccines and turn away at least 100 patients who were due to attend appointments today.

The fire has also meant clinic staff are unable to contact the patients to advise of the cancellations.

Police are now investigating whether the blaze was link to a fire at a tattoo parlour in Old Reynella last week, and potential bikie links.

There were no reported injuries from the Angle Vale fire, and anyone with information that can assist police is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or online.
