Shire counts cost of Northcliffe fire
Manjimup Shire Council has received a report on the damage done and the progress being made after the Northcliffe bushfire.
The report confirmed the fire burnt an area of about 98,000ha over a 300km perimeter of land.
There were 92 properties in 56 holdings affected by the fire, with one farm house being completely destroyed. Once approved by Main Roads, a works program to repair roads affected by the fire and costing about $1.5 million, will be undertaken and completed by summer.
A total of 146 power poles and 17 transformers had to be replaced as a result of the bushfire.
