Passenger charged with stabbing driver

A man has been charged with stabbing an acquaintance who was found injured on a Sinagra roadside last week.

Joondalup detectives allege the 46-year-old stabbed the other man once in the abdomen when they argued while driving together in the northern suburbs last Wednesday afternoon.

The injured 33-year-old, who had been driving the Holden Commodore, stopped the car and stumbled out of the vehicle.

Police allege the 46-year-old jumped in the driver's seat and drove away.

The injured man was found on the roadside and rushed to hospital.

Joondalup detectives have charged the older man with causing grievous bodily harm and stealing a motor vehicle.

He is expected to appear in Perth Magistrate's Court on March 30.
