Australia Day sizzles Busselton

Busselton Geographe Bay Rotary Club will hold its annual Australia Day breakfast for charity on Monday.

The Australia Day event will go towards raising funds for local, national and international charities.

The morning will start with a march down Queen Street from Victoria Square at 7am.

Mayor Ian Stubbs will then perform a naturalisation ceremony, followed by MLA Libby Mettam's Australia Day address and the Premier's Australia Day Active Citizen Awards.

Breakfast will be served from the Busselton beachfront at 8.15am and will be $5 for adults and a gold coin donation for children under 14.

Dunsborough's Australia Day ceremony, from 9am at the Dunsbourough Foreshore, will be opened with a story from Josh Whiteland, about our traditional owners.

Lisa Knight will sing the national anthem, while First Cape Naturaliste scouts raise the flag.

Inspiring citizen Claudio Tallarico will give a speech about his experience living in Australia, followed by a presentation of the Premier's Active Citizenship Award and Naturaliste Gratitude Award.
