Lions call for Australia Day nominations
The Cowaramup Lions club has called for nominations for the 2014-15 Colin Duggan Citizen of the Year Award to be given at the club's free Australia Day breakfast at Pioneer Park.
Cowaramup Lions president Mark Murray said the award would recognise an outstanding contribution to Cowaramup and its people.
"We're calling for people that act tirelessly for the community of Cowaramup," Mr Murray said.
He said the award would go to a "caring, giving, community-minded person". Mr Murray said last year's award recognised Bob Biddulph for his involvement in junior cricket and football, the dairy industry, farmers' federation, and the bushfire brigade.
Mr Murray said he encouraged nominations from people and clubs in Cowaramup and the City of Busselton. "We're look- ing for people who have been nominated in the past to be nominated again by members of the community or clubs," Mr Murray said.
Nomination forms are available at the Cowaramup Post Office and Stocker Preston Cowaramup.
