Alleged shower stabber faces court

A 57-year-old woman could spend Christmas in jail after allegedly trying to stab her daughter’s partner while he showered in York.

The woman had gone to the 35-year-old man’s Grey Street home about 11am on Tuesday when the pair became involved in an argument.

After telling the woman to leave the man got in the shower.

Police allege the woman then grabbed a 30cm carving knife from the kitchen and entered the bathroom before pulling back the shower curtain and slashing at the man.

The man was able to entangle the woman in the shower curtain before she backed away.

The woman suffered a fractured wrist when the man slammed the bathroom door on her arm. She required hospital treatment on her wrist.

York Police have charged with the woman with going armed to cause fear.

She was refused bail and is due to face Perth Magistrate’s Court today.
