Driver charged over pedestrian's death

A man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a pedestrian was allegedly run over in Adelaide’s western suburbs last night.

Police allege the driver ran over a man lying on Hardy St at Rosewater about 11.30pm yesterday.

They said the driver stopped and then drove off without rendering assistance.

The victim, aged in his 30s, died at the scene.

The driver contacted police from his West Lakes home just before midnight.

He was released on bail to appear in court at a later date.

Police have asked any witnesses or anyone else with information to come forward.
