Goldfields ball a golden affair

All that glitters is not gold but all that glistens might be, with the Goldfields Children Charity announcing it as the 2015 ball theme.

Goldfields Children Charity chairman Scott Gunson made the revelation at Wednesday night’s Kalgoorlie-Boulder Chamber of Commerce and Industry Business After Hours to a packed room of charity supporters.

As usual, Mr Gunson declined to reveal anything more than the logo which was the word “Glisten” written in a Disney-esque font superimposed over images of snowflakes.

The winner of the highly contested raffle for a table at the ball was also revealed on Wednesday night.

Mr Gunson revealed charity itself was also a winner with $14,000 raised by selling raffle tickets.

More of the ball’s theme will be revealed before the big event on March 21.

The annual charity ball is one of the biggest events in the Kalgoorlie-Boulder social calendar and last year raised $265,000.

Funds raised by Goldfields Children Charity go towards the Royal Flying Doctor Service and Ronald McDonald House in Perth, as well as local charities such as autism therapy organisation Full Circle Therapies.
