Glory consider Dundee United link

Perth Glory owner Tony Sage is set to meet with representatives of Scottish side Dundee United to discuss a potential relationship between the two clubs.

United chairman Stephen Thompson has been in Australia with an eye towards finding the club’s next group of star players.

Thompson was a guest of Adelaide United during their midweek FFA Cup match and has also met with Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers.

He will meet with Sage this weekend, with Glory set to host Wanderers at nib Stadium on Saturday.

Thompson hopes rising Australian players will use United as a launching pad to careers in Europe.

Several Australian players have made names for themselves in Scotland, including former Socceroos stars Mark Viduka, Craig Moore and Tony Vidmar.

Dundee United, not to be confused with local rivals Dundee, finished fourth in the Scottish Premier League last season.
