Woman robbed of cash, car at ATM

A woman was threatened with an axe and robbed after withdrawing cash from an ATM in Busselton on Friday night.

Police say the 51-year-old woman was getting into her car in Prince Street around 7.15pm after taking cash from the Bankwest ATM when she was approached by a man with a "tomahawk-style axe" who demanded her cash and car keys.

"The woman complied and the man drove away in her 2012 white Toyota Camry sedan, registration number 1DVJ806," the police spokeswoman said.

"He was last seen heading north towards Bunbury."

The offender is described as being approximately 170cms tall, with a stocky build.

He was wearing a light blue hooded jumper with a motif on the front similar to a compass design, and a shirt covering his face.
