E-plate driver blows over the limit

A 50-year-old Geraldton man on an extraordinary licence was allegedly caught driving at close to four times the legal alcohol limit.

Geraldton Police stopped the man on Wednesday October 1 on Pass Street near Eastern Road in Wonthella.

After a random breath test, police ascertained the man had consumed alcohol. He was then taken to the police station, where a final breath test resulted in a reading of 0.191 grams of alcohol per 100mL of blood.

The man was charged with driving under the influence and failure to display his E-plates.

He is due to appear in Geraldton Magistrate's Court on November 6.
