Probe into king-hit allegation at football final

Tasmania's state league grand final day has been marred by allegations a spectator king-hit a player during a grand final.

The Development League grand final between Lauderdale and Clarence was the curtain-raiser event at yesterday's Tasmanian State League grand final in Launceston.

Posts on social media claimed a Lauderdale spectator king-hit a Clarence player. The posts said the injured player was taken to hospital as well as to police.

TSL general manager Shaun Young said he was aware of the allegations.

"There was an alleged incident that occurred at half-time in the development league game that is currently under investigation by the police and we'll certainly undertake our own investigation come Monday," he said.

Police were yet to comment on the allegations.
