Wyndham house gutted by fire

A suspicious fire has caused more than half a million dollars damage to a house in Wyndham overnight.

Two crews from the Wyndham Volunteer Emergency Services were called to the Kangaroo Drive property about 8.15pm.

There was little they could do as the flames had already spread to the roof space.

A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said the fire completely gutted the house.

It caused an estimated $600,000 worth of damage.

There was no one home at the time.

Police are at the scene this morning investigating the cause of the blaze.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
