A woman has died after being hit by a car at about 6:30 this morning at Fairfield in Brisbane's south.
It is believed she lived in a nearby retirement village and was on a morning walk.
The driver, who was on his way to work, told police he was blinded by the sun as he came around a corner, and did not see the woman.
He has been taken to hospital to receive treatment for shock.
Motorists have been asked to avoid the area.
