Video clip to capture the heart of new city

After the success of a community-produced video spruiking how happy the people of Broome are, a Karratha resident is calling on the community to produce a similar film.

The #happyBroome video received more than 31,000 views on YouTube in less than a week and Monika Brabazon is calling on residents to participate in a film clip showcasing the City of Karratha.

But while Pharrell Williams' hit tune Happy was the soundtrack for Broome, Ms Brabazon was planning on using a different tune.

She said she was inspired by the idea to create a similar video which demonstrated all that Karratha and its surrounding communities had to offer.

"We will be doing the video to either We Built This City or Working Class Man - whichever song is better known to people," she said. "So get your school, organisation, workplace, sporting groups and community groups together, even if you just feel like having a dance with a friend, and let's show the rest of Australia what we've got."

If you are interested in participating in the project, send an email to monika.brabazon@gmail.com and include who you work for and your availability for filming a short routine for the clip.
