Manly beach gets the blues
Local ocean photographer Saltmotion has captured an amazing sight at Manly beach in Sydney as breaking waves turned blue.
Experts say it is most likely caused by a type of algae, which typically blooms in spring
Under the right conditions the algae will emit a blue glow when agitated - such as when a wave breaks. It is called bio-luminescence.
You can watch video of the blue breaking waves in Sarah Cumming's weather forecast above.
