Bail refusal for assault accused

The man accused of sexually assaulting four young girls at Bulgarra Oval earlier this month has been denied bail at the Karratha Magistrate's Court today.

28-year-old Jamie Robert Noel Taylor appeared before the court via video link from Roebourne Regional prison after being charged with four counts of indecent dealings with children under 13 years of age.

Speaking on behalf of Mr Taylor, Legal Aid lawyer Claire Stimpson requested bail on the grounds of potential for employment at Barrow Island.

Magistrate Deen Potter refused bail, telling the courtroom there were no bail conditions he could set which would alleviate public concern.

Mr Taylor has been remanded in custody until September 23, pending further legal advice.
