Thieves steal dying boy's wish

A teenager with cystic fibrosis has been left heartbroken after thieves stole his two motorcycles and pushbike.

When 13-year-old David Boston was five, the Make A Wish Foundation gave him a Piwi 50.

David had outgrown the bike but wanted to keep it because it was special to him.

"[I wanted to keep it] so when I got older, I could just remember how fun that day was,” David said.

David's father said the cystic fibrosis will eventually kill David, which is why the Foundation granted his wish.

"I hope the thief feels really good with themselves because they have stolen from a child with cystic fibrosis.”

On the same night three weeks ago, a second motorbike was also taken from the garage at their Hervey Bay home.

The father and son had been planning to fix it up together.

"I don't want him to miss out on anything in his life because his life is going to be much shorter than anyone else’s,” David’s father said.

Adding insult to injury, David’s pushbike was stolen on Friday night.

David and his dad had spent months rebuilding and repainting the BMX, which David said was one of the most fun things he had ever done.

More than just bikes, David now just wants the thieves to return his precious memories.

"I would love to have them back if I could,” he said.
