M *iranda Kerr *has added fuel to the myth of Australia's "boxing kangaroos" during an appearance on a US talk show.

In what was possibly her most relaxed interview to date, the supermodel appeared on The Tonight Show with *Jimmy Fallon *at the weekend, where she chugged back six cups of beer in a game of flip cup and discussed her childhood growing up in the country NSW town of Gunnedah.

Looking elegant in a long printed skirt and a black top, Kerr talked candidly about her upbringing, insisting she was "actually quite a tomboy growing up".

The brunette then used an anecdote about camping in New Zealand to segue into her fib about the boxing kangaroos.

"In New Zealand there's nothing that can harm you, no animals, not like Australia," Kerr said.

"In Australia we have the most dangerous snakes, the spiders, the kangaroos, you gotta watch out for those kangaroos," she said.

Fallon, understandably, acted surprised when she listed kangaroos as a threat. "The kangaroos, they're dangerous, they're boxing kangaroos," Kerr smiled.

And when Fallon said he thought they were friendly, she replied: "That's what all the tourists think. They go back on their tails and they go for

it."
