Police seize drugs in Perth raids
Police have seized about 4kg of methylamphetamines allegedly worth $8 million and charged four men during raids in Perth’s south.
Organised Crime Squad detectives began investigations after officers found 2kg of the drugs during a search of a vehicle they had stopped in Kewdale in January. The driver allegedly attempted to evade police.
The investigation led to further 2kg of methylamphetamines - allegedly from the same syndicate - being found several weeks later.
On April 25, about 70 officers executed six search warrants in Bibra Lake and Kewdale where they seized more then $380,000 in cash, two firearms, ammunition, steroids and pepper spray canisters.
Police charged two Kewdale men aged 38 and 40 and a 40-year-old Bibra Lake man with conspiracy to sell or supply a prohibited drug and failing to obey a data access order.
The 38-year-old was charged with three counts, and both 40-year-olds was charged with one count of supplying a prohibited drug.
The trio will appear in Perth Magistrate’s Court on July 24.
A 33-year-old Munster man was charged with being unlicensed possession of a firearm or ammunition and supplying a prohibited drug. He will appear in Perth Magistrate’s Court on August 15.
Two others were charged by summons in relation to firearm and weapon offences.
