Pregnant woman's hoon horror

A young pregnant woman says she is lucky to be alive after being hit by a hoon driver at a car meet.

Jo Wright says she feared losing her unborn baby - when a vehicle lost control while doing a burnout.

The 25-year-old, and her partner Ben, were attending the weekend's cruise and meet car day at Wiseman's Ferry when she was hit by the driver of a Mazda.

Despite warnings from organisers not to do burnouts, the driver lost control of his car sending it spinning towards Jo.

“[I] Basically went up, landed on the bonnet of his car on my back and I ended up on the ground,” she said.

The out-of-control Mazda then smashed into the young couples’ early model Holden Statesman leaving it a written-off wreck.

The young couple, as well as the driver who slammed into them, do not have insurance.

They may be financially stricken, but remain relieved Jo's brush with death has not harmed their unborn child.
