Two stabbed on 1am walk with mum

Two men were stabbed on a midnight night walk around Lake Monger with their mother.

The Glendalough woman and her two sons, aged 23 and 29, were near the boardwalk jetty at the northern end of the Leederville reserve when a man became aggressive and threatened them with a sharp implement about 1am on Monday.

Police said the man demanded wallets and mobile phones but when the two sons refused he became aggressive.

The older brother received a stab wound to the left shoulder while the 23-year-old was stabbed in the hand. Both men were treated at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.

The attacker is described as a short, dark skinned man with a thin build.

He is thought to be in his late 40s and wore a black jacket, dark jeans and carried a backpack.

Police said the man had introduced himself as “Brodie” before he became aggressive.

Detective Sergeant Glenn King said the man was with a woman but she walked off before the attack.
