West Coast Eagles players Mark LeCras and Matt Priddis took their baby daughters to the beach yesterday to promote a charity run in aid of child death prevention and bereaved families.

The athletes are supporting the club's physiotherapist Chris Perkin, who started the SIDS and Kids WA Sunshine Beach Run in 2012 after losing his stillborn son Jake and wife Cindy.

The first-time fathers said they wanted to encourage others to sign up to the March 16 run at City Beach to help SIDS and Kids WA continue its work to prevent infant mortality and help grieving families.

SIDS and Kids WA chief executive Gerry Walsh said money raised by this year's beach run would fund the charity's Healthy Pregnancy, Health Baby campaign, which is being launched across the State this year.
