Accused serial burglars face court
Two accused serial burglars have made an appearance in court charged over a string of alleged thefts on businesses in the western suburbs.
Cassandra Jayne Rochford, 20, and Troy Philip Taylor, 28, appeared briefly in Perth Magistrate's Court this afternoon charged over burglaries allegedly carried out between October last year and this month.
Mr Taylor is facing 26 aggravated burglary charges, five charges of aggravated burglary with intent, two burglaries, five charges of stealing a motor vehicle, 27 stealing charges and three charges of criminal damage.
He is also charged with 11 counts of gaining a benefit by fraud and two charges of attempting to gain a benefit by fraud.
Ms Rochford has been charged with 18 aggravated burglaries, five aggravated burglaries with intent, four charges of stealing a motor vehicle, 18 stealing charges and two charges of criminal damage.
The pair was arrested last night after they allegedly left a Perth hotel in a stolen car.
Police said they had been wanted for questioning over a number of burglary and stealing offences around the metropolitan area between October and January.
Police allege two cars were stolen during a burglary on a Cottesloe home on December 8, which were then used to carry out eight burglaries on businesses in the western suburbs.
Ms Rochford and Mr Taylor were not required to plead to the charges and they did not apply for bail.
They have been remanded in custody to face court again next month.
Police are continuing inquiries into suspected stolen property which was found the vehicle which led to the arrest of Mr Taylor and Ms Rochford last night.
