UPDATE: A 25-year-old man is helping detectives with their inquiries into an incident in Mirrabooka last night.

Police announced this morning that they were investigating a report that a woman was forced into a car at Mirrabooka Village Shopping Centre last night.

The car had been reported stolen several days ago.

"It was reported to police that a woman was seen being forced into a black 2008 Saab 95 station sedan by a man," a police spokesperson said this morning.

Mirrabooka Detectives called for the public's help to identify the man and woman.

"It is not known if the woman was taken against her will and if this report was incorrect," police said.

"Police are asking that she contacts them immediately ... to let them know she is safe."

Police announced about 4pm today that the man and woman had been found and spoken to by police.

"The woman, who is known to the man, is safe and well," police said.

"Inquiries will continue into the circumstances behind the incident."
