Scooter death charge dropped

A Doubleview man charged over a fatal scooter crash in June has had the charge dropped.

Clinton Anthony Hoffman, 20, had been facing a charge of dangerous driving occasioning the death over the crash at the intersection of Edmund and South Streets in Beaconsfield in June.

A 57-year-old scooter rider was injured in the collision with a Nissan Pulsar.

The Beaconsfield man was taken to hospital where he died.

Today in Perth Magistrate's Court, prosecutors discontinued the charge against Mr Hoffman telling the court there was no reasonable prospect of a conviction.
