Quad bike rider injured in Wheatbelt

UPDATE A teenage girl sustained serious injuries after a quad bike accident in the Wheatbelt.

The teenager was on her quad bike when she collided with a tree in Kellerberrin just before 5pm today.

It is not known whether she was riding in bush or on the road at the time.

The RAC Rescue chopper collected the girl from Minkadine Road in Kellerberrin before transporting her to Perth.

She initially arrived at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital before being transferred to Princess Margaret Hospital.
