Justice Crew to headline Derby Freshfest

Former Australia's Got Talent winners Justice Crew are coming to Derby to headline a free community event on Friday, October 11.

The seven-piece all-male hip hop troupe, known for hits such as Boom Boom, Friday to Sunday and Best Night, will headline the Smokefree WA Derby Freshfest, hosted by the Shire of Derby/ West Kimberley.

The band is expected to attract crowds of up to 2000, and share the stage with several Kimberley bands.

As a special treat for Justice Crew's young fans, a competition will be launched in conjunction with Derby Youth Centre and schools in the West Kimberley to allow 10 lucky children exclusive access backstage to meet the boys, based on the students' improved performance and attendance.

Justice Crew will also host a Justice Academy session in Derby - a music and dance program used to empower future generations and disadvantaged young Australians by building confidence, self-expression and team-building skills.

Shire Community Development executive manager Brad Isbister said the Smokefree WA Derby Freshfest was designed to promote community values and healthy messages through bringing a chart-topping act to the region.

"We are delighted to have secured Justice Crew for this year's community concert," he said.

"The boys are fantastic role models to the younger generation and their international success means they have appeal to the whole community."

Justice Crew first found fame after winning Australia's Got Talent in 2010.

Smokefree Derby Freshfest will be held from 4-9pm next Friday, at West Kimberley Turf Club.
