Young girls ran from a Gosnells deli in terror yesterday when a violent bandit pushed one girl aside before shooting at the shop's owner and pointing a gun at another girl.

The bullet hit the man's iPhone in his pocket but did not reach his leg.

Three young female customers were in the Ezi-Way store on George Street, near Fremantle Road, when the masked robber stormed in about 12.30pm.

He pushed one 11-year-old girl aside and she and her friend, also 11, fled outside and alerted an adult.

Paige Atkinson, 16, who was also inside, said the man concentrated on the owner and yelled: "Give me the money or I'll shoot you."

She also fled and contacted her mother Susan Smith.

It is believed the bandit then shot at the owner.

Paige said the gunman ran from the store and pointed the gun at her before getting into an older model Holden Commodore.

"I was shaking, I was so scared," Paige said.

Ms Smith said the bullet made a big hole in the phone but did not go through it. "He was very lucky," she said.

"When I got here, the two shop owners were in shock, still standing there serving customers and one said he had blood on his hands and was shot."

The bandit was wearing a high-vis yellow top.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers.
