Man dies in Adelaide house fire

An elderly man has died in a house fire at Taperoo in Adelaide’s western suburbs.

His body was found in the lounge room of the Gunliffe St home after the blaze at about 11.45pm.

Police patrols raised the alarm after tracing the smell of smoke to the home, but were unable to enter because of the heat and smoke.

The man’s body was discovered by firefighters after they extinguished the blaze.

Fire cause investigators said there were no suspicious circumstances.
