YMCA bus gets a makeover

Graphic designer Simon Kenny had never attempted to produce his work on such a scale when the Eastern Goldfields YMCA asked him to design a wrap for their newly-built bus, but he welcomed the challenge.

Mr Kenny, from Design Sense Graphic and Web, said he was excited to take the job when approached by the YMCA. "I knew it was going to be a big wrap and to get to design something this big is a good experience," Mr Kenny said.

"In terms of designing, I'd definitely do it every time I get an opportunity."

With sign-writers needing three days to complete the project, local high school students took the opportunity to visit the Australian Prospectors and Miners Hall of Fame and witness what the industry had to offer.

"There's definitely a lot of exciting work in graphic design," Mr Kenny said.

"I'd encourage people to get into it because it's a good career, a lot of fun and it's different every day."
