Burglar dangled from wall for five hours
Security guards in China are facing false imprisonment charges after tying an attempted robber to a 20ft wall for five hours next to a sign explaining what he had done.
The 34-year-old man had his arms tied behind his back as he was strung up on a busy street by security guards who caught him climbing out of an apartment block with stolen goods.
He was then blindfolded before being forced to stand for hours with a sign at his feet explaining what he had done.
Local media reports suggest he had been caught red-handed with an iPad, watches, mobile phones and a laptop.
While a property manager at the apartment block supported the actions of the security guards, police have confirmed they are being investigated.
"No matter what he did, these men can't stage a public hanging" said a spokesman for the local police force.
