Skipper Mela extends contract with Brive

Brive-la-Gaillarde (France) (AFP) - Former France international lock and Brive captain Arnaud Mela looks set to end his career with the Top 14 club after extending his contract there by two years on Monday, the team announced.

The 34-year-old -- capped four times during former France coach Marc Lievremont's term in charge -- has been at the club since joining from Albi in 2008 and the two year extension will take him up to June 2017.

The extension is part of a programme put in place by the club and sponsors to prepare players for life after their sporting career is over.
