Houston Dynamo to postpone plans for Bolton Wanderers friendly

Houston Dynamo will delay plans to bring English Premier League club Bolton Wanderers to Texas.

The MLS outfit were in negotiations to play a friendly with the Trotters later this year but the injury to ex-Dynamo midfielder Stuart Holden is likely to postpone the match.

Holden was injured playing for Bolton on the weekend and will require knee surgery which is expected to sideline him for about six months .

Dynamo president Chris Canetti said Holden would have been the major drawcard for the clash and now with him out of action, sees no point in having the game take place.

"We're sorry to see Stuart suffered the injury," Canetti said. "We're awaiting official confirmation from the club as to how long the injury will (have Holden out).

"Should the report of him being out six months be validated by the club, then it's likely that we will not move forward with the match.

"We have other English Premier Clubs that we're having conversations with."
