Police arrest two wanted fugitives

South Australian Police have arrested two women, both on a list of wanted Australian fugitives that was released yesterday.

At Port Lincoln, police last night arrested Barbette Tennielle Griffin, 35, wanted by Northern Territory Police in relation to two deliberately lit fires at hotels in Alice Springs.

They were alerted to her whereabouts by a Port Lincoln resident at 7.30pm, who recognised Griffin on a TV news report last night.

She was arrested on a remote farm on the Lower Ayre Peninsula without incident and is expected to appear at the Port Lincoln Magistrates Court later today.

Detectives from the NT are flying to Port Lincoln to apply for Griffin's extradition.

Meantime, at about nine o'clock this morning, Susan Sewell, 54, was arrested by Adelaide police in Hutt St.

A warrant for her arrest has been issued after she breached her parole, she had previously served time for causing serious injury to another person.

She was arrested on Hutt St in the city, and is expected to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court later today, police from Victoria will also fly to South Australia, to apply for her extradition.
