Amber alert issued after baby girl snatched from home near Cessnock

An Amber alert has been issued in NSW after a four-month-old baby girl was abducted near Cessnock about 4pm Wednesday afternoon.

Two women and a man entered a home on Ruby Street in Bellbird at about 4.05pm and took the girl, NSW Police said in an urgent alert.

The group took the girl to a car and were last seen heading west and possibly in the direction of the Queensland border.

The vehicle was described as a white 2010 Mitsubishi Challenger with the Queensland registration 388-XFV, police said.

One woman is described as being of Caucasian appearance, between 160 and 165cm tall and in her mid 20s.

She has solid build with dark hair and was wearing a light-colour top, police said.

A second woman, also Caucasian, is described as being between 60 and 70 years of age, with a large build and grey hair.

She was wearing a grey T-shirt at the time.

The man travelling with the two women was said to be 30 years old, between 170cm to 175cm tall with dark hair shaved at the back.

He too is described as having a large build, wearing blue pants and a yellow and blue high-visibility shirt.
