Worker grapples with man during Queensland armed robbery
A female pizza shop worker's attempt to fight off armed robbers in south-east Queensland has been captured in dramatic security footage.
CCTV footage released by police seems to shows the man jumping over the shop counter before approaching the female employee, who appears to be sweeping the floor.
The pair seem to be grappling with the broom before the worker walks back towards the till with her hands in the air.
Police have said two men entered the store on Fitzgerald Avenue at Springwood at about 12.55 on Monday morning.
One climbed over the counter, made demands for property and assaulted the staff member, according to police.
It is believed the other offender, who appeared to be armed with a firearm, threatened the female staff member, before she handed over a sum of money.
In the footage it appears that one of the men leaves the store with the tray from the register.
The pair had coverings on their faces and were dressed entirely in black.
They were seen fleeing in a white hatchback.
Police said no one was injured during the incident.
