'Just crazy': Car plunges off Gold Coast carpark
A young family has made a lucky escape after their car toppled over the edge of a Bundall carpark on the Gold Coast.
They managed to escape injury following the shocking crash.
The vehicle fell several metres below before finally landing onto a garden bed.
Fire, police and ambulance crews were all called to the scene at around 11.30am following reports of the accident which occurred on Ashmore road.
Witnesses stated the learner driver accidentally accelerated instead of breaking resulting in the car launching over the edge of the carpark.
Witness Kristin Zander told News Corp said she saw the car go over the edge.
“It was just crazy, everyone went running out there,” she said.
“I thought it was a building collapsing, it was really loud.”
