Man pinned, dragged down street by white van in hit-and-run

A man was struck, pinned down and dragged 40 metres down the road by a van in a shocking hit-and-run in Adelaide's east.

Police are still searching for two suspects involved in incident that took place on on Sunday night at the intersection of George St and The Parade in Norwood.

A patron was sitting on an outside table at Manto café around at 6pm when a white van pulled up near him.

Two men jumped out and snatched a laptop from the victim.

The thugs jumped back into the van when the victim jumped over a rail and ran in front of the vehicle.

He was hit and dragged 40 metres down the road.

The victim was rushed to the Royal Adelaide hospital suffering from serious arm injuries.

Police found the van dumped and torched later that evening in the southern suburb of Port Noarlunga and crime scene investigators have been scouring the scene for evidence.

Staff members at the café told The Advertiser the victim was “the nicest guy” who often brought cafe staff cupcakes.

Other witnesses described the incident as “sinister”.
