Customers furious as Telstra struggles with yet another outage

Telstra works to restore internet outage for customers

Telstra users have been hit by yet another service disruption with furious customers accusing the telco of "ruining" their business.

The outage, which is currently affecting NBN and ADSL internet services, is the fourth to hit customers in recent months.

"We’re aware of an incident affecting NBN voice and data and ADSL customers. We are working to restore services ASAP," a statement from Telstra reads.

At 11.30am the telco said there has been significant restoration and it is working to re-establish services which remain outstanding.

The outage comes after Telstra chief executive officer, Andy Penn, took the extraordinary step of apologising to customers personally in March and said it was "deeply disappointing" after a mass network outage disrupted service for up to eight million customers.

The telco giant offered a free data day on April 3 as compensation.

Customers today took to social networking sites to voice their outrage.

"We apologise to customers and are doing everything possible to restore services as quickly as possible," Telstra said on Friday.

According to Perth Now 375,000 phone and internet customers across the country are being affected by this new network failure.

It's the fourth outage for Telstra in the past four months.

More to come.
