LA firefighters rescue bulldog from burning building in touching video

A bulldog who was trapped inside a burning apartment, unable to breathe, was rescued by firefighters and nursed back to health in a touching video which has taken the internet by storm.

The dog, named Potato, was home alone in a unit in Koreatown, Los Angeles, when a blaze broke out in the building.

Heart-warming footage shows firefighters tending to the pooch, giving him water and oxygen and rubbing his back.

Potato was found unresponsive and alone in the apartment, NBC LA reports.

"I thought the dog was really going to die," said witness Martha Sanchez.

"It was like a movie. They were really fast."

Firefighters carried the Potato outside the burning building and performed resuscitation on the lifeless pooch.

He was reportedly walking around and breathing on his own soon after the rescue.

Police said the fire started in the kitchen and no major injuries were reported.

The video has clocked up almost 3 million views since it was uploaded less than 24 hours ago.
