Miracle dogs pulled from tornado rubble after being trapped for two days
Two days after a tornado ripped through their community a US family has been reunited with their beloved dogs who were buried underneath rubble.
During the disaster the family was separated from their dogs, Lucy and Sawyer.
The Berkshier family decided to return to their Dallas suburb two days after the natural disaster to try to located their pets.
They dug through piles of wood and loose insulation when they heard a familiar whimper much to their surprise.
"Oh, we heard him," Berkshier told NBCDFW.
"We heard him crying out and barking."
The large group of family and friends launched into action and began to dig through the rumble with gusto.
After 20 minutes of sorting through endless mounds of debris they spotting a tuft of Sawyer’s distinctive yellow hair and were able to bring him to safety.
"Oh, my gosh. I have not been able to sleep these last few nights," said Berkshier,
The grateful owner admitted she was praying for a miracle.
Despite the Labrador being trapped for two days in cold conditions he didn’t break a single bone and is expected to make a full recovery.

Even more remarkable is that shortly after Sawyer was rescued the family’s other dog could be also heard whimpering under yet another pile of rubble.
Lucy, the mini pinscher was also located unharmed and reunited with her loving family.
Family member Michael Delgado rescued the small pup from the wreckage, according to Fox24 News.
