Man charged over Sunshine Coast murder following day-long manhunt

A 38-year-old man has been charged with murder after a day-long manhunt on the Sunshine Coast after a young man was found stabbed to death.

Nathan Wiseman was found with multiple stab wounds to his chest lying on the bitumen in Tewantin, Noosa at about 1am on Sunday.

The 21-year-old was taken to hospital, but died on arrival.

Neighbours reported a disturbance in the street earlier that evening and police told media there was an altercation before the incident.

Police said the man has been charged with one count of murder and will appear at the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

The two men were known to each other, police said.

Family friend, Jackie Byrnes, told 7 News Nathan had a mild intellectual disability and was a very friendly and lovable guy who loved the outdoors.
